Meditation relieves the severity of stammering



Stammering is a speech disorder. The people who stammer repeat or prolong words while speaking. Sometimes they have to stop in the middle of talking. They can’t pronounce certain syllables or phrases. Stammering makes a person stressed and nervous. As a result, the normal activities are hampered. Some people who stutter become extremely tense and out-of-breath while talking. Their speech may be blocked completely.  

The scientists have been trying to find out the main causes of stammering for a long time. But they have yet found out the real causes. But the experts say there are some factors which cause stammering. These are developmental, neurogenic and psychological.

There is no medication to cure stammering. But speech therapy has been proved effective to alleviate the severity of stammering.

Meditation has earned popularity all over the world as it drives away stress and makes the mind calm. As stammering is a psychological problem, meditation can be effective to lower the intensity of stammering.

Regular meditation can bring some positive results to those who suffer from stammering.
